Dubai – A city ahead of it’s time

Submitted by Olieng on Wednesday, 16 July 200815 Comments

For years I’ve always been fascinated with the City of Dubai. Dubai is situated on the Persian Gulf coast of the United Arab Emirates and is roughly at sea level. The emirate of Dubai shares borders with Abu Dhabi in the south, Sharjah in the northeast, and the Sultanate of Oman in the southeast.

One look at Dubai and you will automatically assume it’s a City built in the future. Dubai is City rich with oil and one day the Prince knows he will run out of oil thus giving him the idea to build a City that

will attract the most tourist in the World.

Simply amazing architect work, my favorite work is definitely the artificial Island that was built in the shape of a Palm Tree.

The Palm Islands are artificial islands in Dubai, United Arab Emirates on which major commercial and residential infrastructure will be constructed.

The islands are the largest land reclamation projects in the world and will result in the world’s largest artificial islands.

They are being constructed by Nakheel Properties, a property developer in the United Arab Emirates, who hired the Dutch dredging and marine contractor Van Oord, one of the world’s specialists in land reclamation.

The islands are the Palm Jumeirah, the Palm Jebel Ali and the Palm Deira.

Oh, my opinion is that Dubai is the token of human’s false pride ! Arabs just don’t know what to do with their money and they decided to build a city in the middle of nowhere !

    Drakumel,

Could be but I’m just looking at the City from the architectural side of it, nothing more nothing less.

    Drakumel,

Quite the contrary! They know that they can’t live off oil forever so they are investing in real estate.
