Tips for using styles.
I always have individuals telling me that their styles looked different from the examples.
That’s because their resolution for their document isn’t set correctly.
Remember it depends on how big the document you’re working on.
I usually set 95 resolutions as my default; I never use anything higher unless I’m working on something as big as wallpaper or stock photos.
Take this example below. I’ve adjusted the resolution for 200, which is rather big for such a small graphic.
The right you can see the results aren’t so appealing.
Another tip you can use is scaling the style by right clicking on the layer style and choose “scale styles”. You can scale it up and down to suit your personal needs.
Take this next example, the resolution was set back to 95 and the style fitted perfectly.

To change the resolution goes to Image > Image size, then find the option: Resolution. Once the resolution is changed, reapply the style to your desired subject.
